The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella is  a Dominican Church located just  opposite to the main station of Florence called Firenze Santa Maria  Novella.

The Church is famously known for its frescoes and funerary monuments. There is a large square right outside the church called Piazza Santa Maria Novella.  On the main road towards the Cathedral called Via Cerretani is the beginning of one of the most frequented areas for shopping. From here all the way to Via Tornabuoni you will find all kinds of brands from Gucci, Armani, Roberto Cavalli to the more modest ones.  A suitable place to find loads of B &B and Hotels as well.

To organize your stay well, at the Santa Maria Novella station itself there is an information office that will help you with all the questions you would like to ask.

As for interesting restaurants to go to the list is quite long but the most prominent ones are: Nerone, Il Giardino and Sasa’.
