Festival of Invisible Objects

The 13 to 15th of March, Florence will host a very curious look into the study of “Thermodynamics  and  the transformation of matter

For the second edition of this event, the lucky viewers will get to see the cloud chamber, to explain the ”metastable state”, mathematical models to describe the transformation of matter and lessons in the street, getting to play with soap bubbles in a fun way to deal with the thermodynamics, to investigate  various topics of scientific disciplines.

A manifestation of a scientific discipline that seeks to deal with complex issues, with the aim of making them accessible and making an effort to explain everyone of such great discoveries. The attempt is to investigate in connection with the transformation of matter, the laws of thermodynamics states that matter itself can occur.
“We will try to see if the matter that surrounds us has always been the same: we will look back in time and space, and peek through the keyhole of the large ring accelerator at CERN in Geneva. We will try to see invisible particles that live around us, we will participate in workshops which take us to meet the laws of physics and mathematics  with which we all encounter every day without realizing it, “said the Commissioner Luca Rovai, creator of the Festival.
The CNR Research Center complex dynamics and the INO, the Open Lab of Sesto Fiorentino are one of the many partners taking part in the project. For anyone interested head to Montelupo Fiorentino which is just about an hours distance from Florence by car. There are SITA buses that take you as well. Please look up the timings for the buses from the bus stand near the SMN station.
Enjoy!
