This tip will definitely be of great help for those of you traveling in cars. I definitely agree that Florence can be a pretty big hassle when it comes to car parking. The first thing to know is that the suitable place for parking cars are the area with the blue lines. The white ones are only for residents and the yellow for the handicap. The Blue lines are parking areas so do not forget to pay. The paying machines should not be too difficult to find. Now comes the difficult part… Only if you are a resident in the city center are you allowed to drive freely within Florence. There are cameras well visible on all entrances to the center, warning those who cannot pass. In case you do the camera will not hesitate in taking down your number plate. Then of course when you least expect, a surprise will come directly home to you..how pleasant it will be that i can imagine. So I am here to try and prevent that for you. Normally one drives to the center since the Hotel you booked in, is situated there. In that case first thing is to remind them that you might have passed the ZTL camera. In that case the staff will note down your number plate and the approximate time you passed through the camera. This is the proof you require in case you pass the camera and not want to get a fine.

Well let me reveal to you another secret since you all can make a mistake in entering the center not needing a Hotel. In that case the only way to tackle the situation is to find a garage.
