Arriving in Florence by train

June 18th, 2011 by

There are three main stations in Florence: Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Firenze Campo di Marte and Firenze Rifredi. The SMN station is the central station and is located 4 minutes away from the city’s Cathedral. The national train’s website is www.trenitalia.com

Before getting to Florence, I suggest you take a look at the tourism homepage of Florence which isĀ  www.firenzeturismo.it where you will find all the necessary information about the city.

Just outside the station there is an abundant number of taxis. In any case the center is a 4 minute walk, taking the via Panzani street. There are even local buses that take you where a ticket costs just 1 euro 20 cents. Now only the number 22 and 6 go in the center.

At the train station there is a farmacy in case of any urgent need of medicines before traveling during the day.
